HORS D'OUEVRES (that's a fancy word for appetizers) SOUTHERN STYLE

With all these holiday gatherings coming up, you'll love this sure-fire hit of an appetizer - it tastes fabulous and it's super simple to prepare. Here's all you need:

12 oz. package of fresh cranberries
1 c. sugar
1 c. peach preserves
1 c. pecans, finely chopped
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
Snack crackers

Prepare and cook the cranberries according to the package directions for cranberry sauce - this is where you'll use the sugar. Remove from heat and thoroughly blend in preserves and pecans. Refrigerate for several hours or even overnight.

To serve, arrange crackers on a serving tray; spread each with cream cheese and top with a dollop of your fruit and nut spread (which is also great on toast, bagels, biscuits or English muffins.
